Penne With Hot Italian Turkey Sausage, White Beans and Kale Serves 8
• 5 ea. Norbest all natural hot Italian sausage links • 1 lb. whole grain penne pasta • 2 Tbsp. olive oil • 14 oz. can of cannellini beans • 1 bunch lacinato kale 14 oz. can diced tomatoes in juice
Great recipe with Norbest all-natural turkey sausage.
1 ) Cook penne according to package directions in lightly-salted water. 2 ) When it is done, drain it, reserving 1 cup of the pasta cooking water. Do not rinse it. 3 ) While the pasta is cooking, heat the olive oil in a large pan over medium-high heat. 4 ) Remove sausage from its casing in small olive-sized pieces and add the pieces to the heated oil. 5 ) Cook the sausage, stirring occasionally, allowing it to brown and crisp. 6 ) While the sausage is browning, drain and rinse the canned beans and remove stems from the kale and roughly chop it. 7 ) When the sausage is cooked through, add the diced tomatoes with its juice, and bring to a boil. 8 ) Add the beans, kale and reserved pasta water. Return to a boil and add the cooked penne. 9 ) Toss the pasta until completely coated with the sauce and the beans, tomato and kale are evenly distributed. 10 ) Serve immediately.
